LICENCE DE PILOTE PRIVÉ (PPL)

Qu'est-ce que la PPL?

C'est le type de licence le plus répandue au Canada et est généralement la première licence obtenue par celui qui aspire à devenir un pilote professionnel.

La licence de pilote privé permet à son détenteur de voler comme pilote ou copilote d'un aéronef monomoteur.

Seuls les vols de jour dans un aéronef monomoteur, à faible performance et sous les règles de vol visuel (VFR) sont permis à moins que des qualifications soient rajoutées. Le détenteur de PPL ne peut être payé pour travailler comme pilote, malgré que certains coûts puissent être remboursés.

Les qualifications suivantes peuvent être rajoutées au PPL:

• Qualification hydravion
• Qualification multimoteur
• Qualification vol de nuit
• Qualification VFR OTT
• Qualification vol aux instruments Group 1 (multi)
• Qualification vol aux instruments Group 2 (mono)

Pré requis

• 16 ans d’âge pour solo
• 17 ans pour obtenir la PPL
• Compléter avec succès l’examen médical de catégorie 3
• Compléter avec succès l’examen PSTAR et un examen Radio

Exigences de Transport Canada

• 45 heures de temps de vol en total
• 17 heures en double (avec instructeur) incluant 3 heures de vol voyage et 5 heures de vol aux instruments
• 12 heures solo, incluant 5 heures vol voyage
• Un vol voyage de 150 miles nautiques avec 2 escales à 2 aéroports différents
• 40 heures de théorie au sol
• Compléter avec succès l’examen écrit PPL de Transport Canada
• Compléter avec succès l’examen pratique PPL de Transport Canada.

What is the PPL?

The Private Pilot Licence allows its holder to fly as pilot or co-pilot of an aeroplane. This is the most commonly held licence in Canada and is generally the first licence earned by the aspiring professional pilot.

Only day flying of a single engine non-high-performance aeroplane in accordance with Visual Flying Rules is allowed with the PPL, unless other ratings have been earned.

Although a pilot with this licence cannot work for hire, reimbursement for some costs is permitted.

The following endorsements can be added:

• Seaplane rating
• Multi-engine rating
• Night rating
• VFR-Over-the-Top rating
• Group 1 Instrument rating (Multi-engine)
• Group 3 Instrument rating (Single engine)

Pre-requisites

• 16 years of age to solo
• 17 years to obtain the Private Pilot Licence
• Successful completion of category 3 or 1 Medical Exam
• Successful completion of the PSTAR and Radio exam

Transport Canada requirements

• 45 hours total flying time
• 17 hours dual (with instructor), including 3 hours-cross country and 5 hours instrument flying
• 12 hours of solo, including 5 hours cross country
• A 150 nautical miles cross country trip with 2 landings at 2 different airports
• 40 hours of ground school
• Completion of a Transport Canada PPL written exam.
